Campus Missionary Year

We are certain that the harvest is great at the University of Southampton, but the workers are few. For years we have been praying to the one that is in charge of the harvest, 'would you send more workers?' To this place, where there are around 25,000 students and 6200 staff from 135 different nations and where as few as 1% of them follow Jesus. They need to hear the good news of the Kingdom, the harvest is ready, so we keep on praying, Lord, send more workers.

Is there a chance that you're one of them?

When Jesus sent out the 72 in Luke 10, he said when you go somewhere, stay in one place, eat and drink what they provide and don't hesitate to accept hospitality. At Highfield Church, we realised that we could provide for those who felt a calling here to live as disciple-makers. To equip, train, and resource them and offer them somewhere to live. So, we started the Campus Mission Initiative.

The Campus Mission Initiative is a one-year program that resources ordinary people to cultivate a deep life of prayer and multiply a movement of the gospel on campus.

If you are an adult and a disciple of Jesus Christ who wants to grow in that calling and way of life, then you’re eligible! We would expect people to join us who are still figuring out their calling such as graduates, and people in their 20s, but are open to discerning whether Campus Mission is for you. Or perhaps this could be right for someone you know that’s looking for something to start in September, could you share this on?

All the details are here, so take a look!
